Terms & Conditions (Effective Date: 05/01/2025)

These Terms govern access to The Journeyman platform (web, mobile, and PWA).

1. Account Use

  • You must be 18+ and provide accurate info.

  • You are responsible for your account’s security.

2. Acceptable Use

Do not use the platform to:

  • Engage in harassment, illegal activity, or fraud.

  • Upload or distribute malware.

  • Bypass platform restrictions.

3. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Firefighters: Build profiles, apply for jobs, share certifications, join rosters.

  • Companies: Manage rosters, gear, documents, jobs, events, teams.

  • Admins: Moderate content, manage users, access platform metrics.

4. Features

  • Messaging: In-app chat with role-based visibility.

  • Notifications: SMS, push, and in-app based on subscriptions and user preferences.

  • Roster & Teams: Managed by companies with permission controls.

  • Incidents: Users assigned to incidents can submit alerts, shift logs.

  • Gear: Inventory assignment tracked per roster/team.

5. Subscription & Payments

  • Payments are handled via Stripe and only through the web.

  • Subscription tiers determine access limits (roster size, SMS volume, admin users, emergency hires, etc.).

6. Wildland Data

  • The platform integrates incident data from third-party sources (e.g., NIFC).

  • This data is for reference only; operational decisions should defer to official sources.

7. SMS Communication Consent

  • By signing up, users agree to receive SMS notifications related to platform activities.

  • Upon joining a company roster, users grant that company permission to contact them via SMS.

  • Users may opt out of general notifications via their settings but may still receive mission-critical messages if rostered.

8. Termination

Accounts may be suspended or removed for TOS violations or abuse of SMS features.

9. Liability

The platform is provided "as-is." We are not liable for job outcomes, incident decisions, or lost data due to user error.

10. Dispute Resolution

All disputes will be governed by South Dakota law.
