  • Communication Logs: SMS activity (non-content), push notification preferences.

  • Device & Session Data: Device type, platform, session behavior.

  • Location Data: For event suggestions, job listings, incident assignment, and profile-based filtering.

  • To operate and improve our platform's core services (chat, job posting, event registration, incident assignments).

  • To allow companies to manage rosters, gear, certifications, documents, and team structure.

  • To support community engagement via posts, comments, and reactions.

  • To process payments and subscriptions for companies using Stripe.

  • To send essential alerts and push notifications using Firebase and Twilio.

  • To track analytics and improve performance via Firebase Analytics.

3. Document & Privacy Settings

Each document or post can be set as:

  • Private: Only the uploader can view.

  • Roster Viewable: Accessible to company owners/admins where the user is rostered.

  • Public: Viewable by all users.

  • Company-Only: For company-exclusive documentation (gear, SOPs, training material).

4. Communications & Notifications

  • By registering for an account on The Journeyman, users consent to receiving SMS alerts and notifications based on their profile settings. These settings can be changed at any time under their user preferences.

  • When a user joins a company roster, they consent to being contacted by that company via SMS for operational or logistical purposes.

  • Registered companies can message only their own roster via SMS, push, or in-app chat.

  • All SMS communications comply with Twilio policy and include opt-out instructions.

  • Users may receive topic-specific push alerts related to emergency hires, certification deadlines, or open jobs.

  • Users can manage notification preferences under Settings.

5. Data Protection & Security

  • Encrypted storage via Firebase.

  • Role-based access controls.

  • Activity monitoring, rate limits, and session timeouts.

  • Secure password and session management.
